Dr. Godwin founded the Laytonsville Veterinary Practice in 1988 at its original site on Route 108. She designed and built the current facility on Sundown Road, opening its doors in May of 2000. She and her husband live in Laytonsville and they have two grown children. Dr. Godwin has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry. She also has three dogs, two cats, and several Arabian horses that she actively competes in endurance.

Patricia Keener DVM

Dr. Keener joined the Laytonsville Veterinary Practice in 2000, and is an exceptionally talented surgeon. Dr. Keener lives in Olney with her husband and one cat and one dog. They have three grown children. When she's not in the practice, you can find her at the tennis court.

Robert Fitzpatrick DVM

Dr. Fitzpatrick joined the practice in 2008 and brings to us a thoughtful approach to medical cases, and special interests in endoscopy and ultrasound. In his spare time, Dr. Fitzpatrick enjoys fishing and racquetball and spending time with his boxer. He is married with a family-on-the-way!

Richard T. Paynter DVM

In 2013 we welcome our newest associate, Dr Paynter. Originally a Columbia, Maryland native, Dr Paynter received his DVM from Iowa and he and his wife have returned to Maryland. He brings a fresh outlook, lots of enthusiam, and all the latest thinking in internal medicine. He and his wife have just started their family with a son, born in May, 2015!

Kelsey Krammer DVM

Dr. Krammer is a new member to our team of associates, but not brand new to Laytonsville Veterinary Practice. Dr. Krammer grew up in Woodbine, Maryland and worked as a technician assistant at LVP before heading to OSU to complete her degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Krammer has a particular interest in veterinary dentistry and behavior. She and her husband live with one dog, one cat, and a leopard gecko.
