Laser Surgery

Laser was added to our services in 2002 as a tool to be used in certain circumstances in place of a scalpel. The strong laser light cuts through tissue leaving an edge that is cauterized so it doesn't bleed much, and it seals the nerve endings so it doesn't hurt as much either. What we've found is that it's an excellent tool in many many surgeries to the point where some surgeries, such as neuters and cat declaws, we'd rather not do without a laser! For other surgeries, such as eyelid surgeries and blemishes on the head, laser may not be as useful. Speak with our veterinarians about the usefulness of laser for your pet's surgery.
